Getting started with Modules

1. To create a module, click Add Module

2. We'll call this module Course Home. Type a name for your module and press Enter.

3. Click Add Module

4. To reorder your modules, click the kabob icon.

5. Click Move Module...

6. Click the dropdown

7. Select At the Top. You also have the option to move the module before or after another module, or push it to the bottom of the list.

9. You can also reorder modules by clicking and dragging the icon with stacked dots.

10. To add content to a module, click the Add Content icon.

11. Click the dropdown to see options for content.

12. Let's add a Page

14. Let's add another page. Click the Add Content icon.

15. Let's make a new page. Click Create Page.

18. Let's reorder the content. Click the kabob icon to the right.

23. Now let's add an assignment to the module. Click the Add Content icon.

26. Click Create Assignment

27. Let's call the assignment Introductions

28. Click Add Item

29. You can collapse a module by clicking on the toggle arrow

30. Click the toggle icon again to expand it.

31. You can also collapse all modules by clicking the Collapse All button at the top.

32. Click Expand All.

33. Click the icon to the far right of an item to publish it.

34. Click the publish icon on the module bar. This will publish the module and all the items in it.

35. Once the module and all its content it published, you can go back and unpublish individual items. Click Unpublish.

36. Click the Manage Module icon

37. Click Copy to... to copy this content to another course.

38. Type out the name of your course. In this case we'll copy it to a course called Tutorials. Click Copy.

39. Let's try sending a page to a colleague. Click the Manage Item icon.

40. Click Send to...

41. Type the name of your colleague in the search box.

42. Click Send

43. Let's explore some of the module setting. Click the Manage Module icon.

44. Click Edit

45. You can change the name of the module.

46. You can change the date (and time) when a module can be accessed. Click Lock until.

47. Click the calendar icon.

48. Let's set the date to December 11.

49. Click Add requirement.

50. From here, you can set requirements for students to complete work within the module. When you're finished with your settings, click Update Module.

51. That's it. You're done.
