Custom Thumbnails for Canvas Studio

Make your videos original!

You don’t need Photoshop or a fancy image editor to create unique and amazing thumbnails for your videos. In this video, I showcase two incredibly simple and easy to use platforms for creating good images for your thumbnails: PowerPoint and Canva. Of course, you can replace PowerPoint with Keynote or Google Slides - the concept is the same.

The simple steps:

  1. Grab a background image, texture, or collection of shapes. Microsoft has stock images available, Canva also has images and templates, and you can visit free images sites such as Unsplash, Pexels, Pixabay, or Rawpixel.

  2. Use font that is very bold and blockish (though if you have a decorative font you prefer then use that!).

  3. Keep the words or phrases short and call attention to your video.

Tips:

  • Create a clear title

  • Use bold and interesting colors

  • Consider creating a themed template for all your videos

  • Include a picture of yourself

  • Make sure the ratio is 16:9

πŸ˜ƒ Never use the default thumbnail 😊
